Q: What currency do you use in Burma?

• The local currency in Myanmar is Kyat (Ks).The currency exchange rate of US$ into Kyat is about between 800 and 820 Ks at present. The exchange rate varies from time to time, going up and down. In Myanmar FEC (Foreign Exchange Certificate) is also used. Officially, one FEC is equivalent to one US$.

Q: Can we be able to make a use of the credit cards during the travel in Myanmar? If so, what types of credits are commonly accepted? If not, what types of currencies should we bring?

• Currently, No credit cards are generally accepted in Burma. We advise you to bring enough US Dollars for your travel, accommodation, shopping and dining expenses. Some travel agencies and hotels may accept but you have to check with them before you come.
 

Q: How shall we settle the payment for our trip?

• Normally we confirm tours to be operated only on the acceptance of 30% deposit of total cost in advance. But our payment procedure is very flexible. If sure to come and having some difficulties to transfer the deposit, you can also settle your payment upon arrival.
 

Q: We have heard that tourists to Myanmar have to change 200-US$ at the airport. ?

• No. You no longer have to change 200-US$ into FEC at the Yangon airport upon your arrival.
 

Q: Can we enter into Myanmar by land. If so, from where can we enter?

• There are border entry points stationed along the border line of Myanmar. If you enter from China, you can enter from the border point of Muse. If from Thailand, you can enter from the border point of Tachileik.
 

Q: Do we need to declare everything we bring at the airport?

• All foreign currencies (If exceeding 2000-US$) jewelries, electrical goods, and cameras must be declared to the Customs at the Yangon international Airport.
 

Q: Do I need Visa to enter Myanmar?

• Every nationality need Myanmar visa to come to Myanmar.
All travelers need a valid Passport with Entry Visa is required. Visa can be obtained at any Myanmar Embassy or Consulate abroad. Visa fee is about 20-US$ in local currency.
