Trip Overview

Time to visit Myanmar’s treasure land,Mogoke which is became one of new tourism destinations in Myanmar with deployment of the country. This ruby and sapphire mines expedition trip was introduced by Travel Expert since when it was start opened for tourist. Visiting open pit and four-feet-square mines will show you traditional mining way of local people. The main attraction is not only to see the treasure mines but also you will see way of life of the hill tribal races. Lying in the valley of ruby and sapphire mountains, Mogkoe become a beautiful hill town of the country.

Time for the trip: All year round, the best time will be on October, November, December, January, February, March and April.
Weather Info: October to April will be hot in the day time but it will be cold in the early morning and late evening. It will be 20oC- 25oC at day time and 0oC to6oC at night time normally. It will be about -2o to -10oc at the night of last 2 camps. June to September will be rain.
Accommodation: 1nights at hotel.
Notice : This trip is only optional sightseeing from Mandalay. We need the time to apply special permission to visit Mogoke. After Mogoke sightseeing, you can continue to PyinOoLwin&Hsibaw or boat trip back to Mandalay on Ayeyarwaddy River for Dolphin and normal river sightseeing.

Itinerary

Mandalay – Mogok– Mandalay
(3 Days / 2 Nights)

Day 1. Mandalay – Mogok( Ruby Land )

In the early morning, one of our professional tour leaders will come and pick you up at your hotel and will start the tour Mogok which famous for the best quality ruby and sapphire in the world.Enjoy scenic driving and visiting small villages on the way will be morning activities. Having lunch at a local restaurant will give you local atmosphere. After lunch, mostly you will be on the forest mountain to enjoy the nature. In the late afternoon, arrive at Mogok and visit view point to see panoramic vista of the Mogok which lies among the forest mountain. Actually, Mogok is situated on the valley of the jams and jewelry mountains. Visiting protected mine of world famous ruby which stands on the crown of the Queen Victoria will be a highlight of the afternoon. Enjoy your dinner at a restaurant and night stop will be at a hotel in Mogok.

 

Day 2.Mogoke Sightseeing

Driving on the mountain to make a visit to hill trip villages will be morning sightseeing. Visiting some different mines and workshops of ruby and sapphire, local jewelry market, mining quarter and some small home make stone workshops will be done on the day time. In the evening, visiting Chanthargyi Pagoda, one of the highest points of the town to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view again will be end of the whole day sightseeing. Dinner and overnight will at your hotel in Mogok.

( One day Optional sightseeing :Mogoke monastery, old British cemetery on the hill, some more old mines of ruby, sapphire and etc., tribal villages, home workshops and water fall )

 

Day 3.Mogoke– Mandalay

Visiting morning vegetable and local street jewelry market follow by driving back to Mandalay will be done after breakfast at hotel. On the way back, take your time easy to make en route stop for photography and sightseeing at the villages and in the forest. In the evening, arrive back Mandalay and check in hotel. It will be at the end of your wonderful ruby land expedition with Travel Expert.

( Important note: If you don’t want to drive back to Mandalay on the same way, you can choose an option way to Mandalay via PyinOoLwin. In our experiences, this road is just opened and you can enjoy the different scenic driving on the forest mountain. In our experiences, you will need to make a night stop at PyinOoLwin which lies about 42 mils north of Mandalay)
